Night check

A few days ago, around 10 of us from The Bong Paoun Project came together for a ‘ Night check in the slums’, something we do once in a while to see if the children who are being sponsored by our program are at home and not out working on the streets.
We took off at 8.30pm and headed out to 4 different slums in town. We had a list of 15 ‘paouns’ whose parents have agreed not to send their children collecting rubbish (and to send them to school instead). Off course none of the children knew we were coming… and of course they were all surprised to see their ‘Bongs’ showing up at night.
When we had finished checking out on the last family just before 11pm we were pleased to see that none of the boys and girls who receive a monthly financial support from our ministry were out working on the streets. Praise God!
Continue to pray for all the paouns we are ministering to. Pray that none of them would be tempted to ever go back to their old life on the streets.
