Every year the little town of Montreux holds one of the best Jazz festivals in the world. This year again some of the top artists have come to perform. From Tony Bennett to Lionel Richie to Lady Gaga...they’re all here by the lake. Montreux is 7 minutes’ drive from The Emmaüs Institute where I live. This year a group of Christians has had the green light from the authorities to hold on a stage an open air Gospel performance. A unique opportunity to reach thousands to Jazz fans from all over the world!
Yesterday I joined the Celebration and preached a Gospel message, right at the heart of the Festival.
As I mingled after with the people a young man came up to me…he recognized me from speaking 3 years ago at his school in Phnom Penh! Then another one came, Chinese looking: he remembered me preaching at his Chinese speaking church in Phnom Penh two years ago! It made me feel like going back to Cambodia…
From the Jazz festival I took the train for Lausanne to the Gospel Center, the church I attend while I’m in Switzerland. The preacher for the night forgot to show up! My friend Pastor Marc Gallay asked me if I was willing to preach a short Word. I was very happy to do so. 3 women responded by giving their lives to Jesus.
